Selecting Educational Applications to Meet Students’ Goals and Objectives

Because there is such a massive amount of information available regarding AT for math instruction, I have decided to develop some questions to guide my search:

What is the intended outcome of the use of the educational application?
Identifying the desired outcome of an educational application will help keep the student’s best interests in mind. There are so many fascinating and fun applications available, but only few are relevant to each individual student’s goals.

Is the educational application likely to fulfill its purpose?
Teachers must choose to employ educational applications in their classrooms that are likely to be engaging for students and appropriate for the classroom environment.

Can the educational applications be used as an alternative to traditional classroom activities to enhance participation?
Teachers also need to consider their own curriculum including assignments and assessments in order to determine if an application will enable  students to express their knowledge and understanding in different ways from their peers.
